Big Oil seizes lithium opportunities
Mining companies could benefit in cash and technology as major fossil fuel companies invest in lithium.
At CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017, equipment manufacturer Haver & Boecker introduced its skid-mounted Hydro-Clean 1000 Wash Plant which, according to the company, saves producers months of time they would have spent on designing and building a skid structure for a wash plant.
Talking to MINING.com’s Michael McCrae, one of the company’s representative at the show, Michael Honea, explained that the plant processes up to 200 tph of usable product.
The way the machine works, he said, is by pushing the washed material down the drum and releasing it onto a discharge conveyor that leads to the L-Class wash screen. This vibrating screen, Honea added, removes any remaining dirt or clay still on the stone. “This makes material that otherwise would be unsellable, sellable.”
Honea also said that the new machine is environmentally friendlier than previous models, as it reduces water consumption by as much as 75 per cent compared to traditional washing systems, while its modular components save energy costs by as much as 15 per cent.
