BTI’s ScaleBOSS3D focuses on operator comfort

BTI’s latest scaler, the ScaleBOSS 3D, was revealed at last week’s MinEXPO 2016 in Las Vegas.  The vehicle is the newest addition to BTI’s already extensive line of underground utility vehicles built on their long-standing reputation in the underground industry.

bti“Development of the ScaleBOSS was inspired by  listening to the needs of our customers,” says Don Sissons, President of Breaker Technology Inc. “When we distilled the operator, maintenance, and owner feedback from our older units, we learned that our working end is arguably the best of any mechanized Scaler for underground hard rock mines in the industry.”

BTI’s success in underground scaling machines is due to the high-degree of flexibility and control. This is achieved by using a large breaker, multi-axis manipulation and robust, reliable boom and chassis construction. But what BTI offered for superior operation, they lacked in operator comfort.

“We needed to improve the comfort and visibility for the operator, without sacrificing performance, reliability, or overall ownership cost,” says Sissons. Our new ScaleBOSS platform combines the very best of our working-end experience with up-to-date ergonomics within a safe, quiet, high visibility operator cabin.”

BTI’s ScaleBOSS 3D offers an ergonomic ROPS/FOPS certified operator cabin and HAVAC system to maintain excellent safety while providing operator comfort.

“Scaling is a tough job – and it’s important to scale effectively for proper ground control,” says Sissons. “We are confident that this machine is a game-changer for that three-to-five meter drift size, and are continuing to develop the full ScaleBOSS family.”
