Sepro Mineral Systems Corp. has completed development of 2 Falcon C1000 Continuous Gravity Concentrators for delivery to Minsur as part of their Cancha 35 Project located in the Puno region of Peru for use in the recovery of tin concentrates. The Falcon C1000 machines will be delivered in November 2015 with commissioning to take place at the end of 2015. Minsur, which is based in Peru, is one of the world’s largest producers of tin concentrates.
The Falcon Continuous Gravity Concentrators being supplied are a modified version of the standard model manufactured by Sepro Mineral Systems Corp. This particular set of Falcon C1000s feature a bigger motor allowing for expanded heat capacity required for the machine to perform successfully at higher altitudes. The Falcon C1000 developed for Minsur will operate at elevations of 4500 meters or greater.
Initial test work completed by Met-Solve Laboratories Inc. using a Met-Solve Analytical Table (MAT) in conjunction with separate Falcon L40 test work completed in Peru indicated good recoveries of tin in the 20 micron size fraction. The MAT table is designed to determine the response of minerals and other mixed particulate materials to gravity concentration. With lower ore grades, industry trends are moving towards pre-concentration to maintain plant efficiencies. Sepro Mineral Systems Corp. has a wide range of equipment suitable for pre-concentration including the Falcon C1000’s.
