Oxford Instruments continues to develop industry leading NMR core analysers

Oxford Instruments and Green Imaging Technologies are pleased to announce the introduction of GeoSpec2+, the latest evolution of the renowned GeoSpec range of NMR core analysers. The two companies have combined their world leading NMR knowledge and experience to once again advance NMR measurement capabilities in the oil and gas sector.

More capability, less spaceCore-Analyzer-GeoSpec2Plus

The GeoSpec2+ features a completely new compact electronics console with upgraded performance and a new suite of monitoring and diagnostic software. This means that users now have better than ever control over the quality and traceability of their results. The operational software has also been upgraded, with improved facilities for advanced users to define their own protocols and applications, so in-house methods can be developed and implemented easily on other sites.

Expanded range of models

The GeoSpec range of analysers now comprises industry standard 2MHz units (accommodating a range of sample sizes from half inch to 6 inches diameter), 12MHz units for increased sensitivity when working with low porosity samples and 20MHz instruments for the best short echo performance allowing even the tightest rocks to be analysed. A dedicated overburden cell (the P5 Cell) is available for most models. The P5 Cell provides NMR users with the technology to pressurise rock core samples up to 5,000 psi and heat them to 100°C, allowing them to make measurements as close to reservoir conditions as possible.

Barry Jones, Director of Sales & Marketing at Oxford Instruments Magnetic Resonance, said “This latest evolution of the GeoSpec range demonstrates the commitment of Oxford Instruments and Green Imaging Technologies to maintaining the GeoSpec as the NMR core analyser of choice for industry and academic users worldwide”.

From basic core analysis to advanced methods

All GeoSpec models are delivered complete with LithoMetrix software which controls and monitors the instrument and carries out basic petrophysical measurements such as porosity, free/bound fluids, pore size distributions and T2 cutoff. Advanced GIT Systems software is also available for the measurement of saturation profiles, spatially located T2 distributions, capillary pressure, and further research applications. So whatever your needs in NMR core analysis, there is a GeoSpec hardware and software combination to suit.
