MICROMINE releases Pitram 2015

Pitram 2015 includes improved 3D visualisation and tagging which will provide operations with instant and visual information.

Perth, Western Australia, 18 November 2014: Leading provider of intuitive software solutions and services to the international mining sector, MICROMINE, is pleased to announce the release of Pitram 2015, the latest version of the company’s mine management and reporting solution.

Pitram 2015 includes many new and enhanced features which have been designed to further assist both surface and underground operations to reduce costs, increase productivity and improve safety.

Pitram is an essential and proven system for management and process improvement of mine sites. Pitram can be used to record, manage and process mine site data related to equipment, personnel, locations and materials, providing a comprehensive view of a mine’s activity and enabling fast and
informed decision making.

Pitram can be configured to the exact needs of any operation at any stage of the mining process. A variety of data capture and integration methods allow the solution to operate with or without a central control room.

Commenting on the most recent Pitram release, Operations Manager, Michael Layng, said “Everyone at MICROMINE is incredibly proud of Pitram 2015 and I am confident that the solution will be well received by the market. The feedback has already been very positive”.

“In addition to the company’s ongoing Research and Development Program, the Pitram Product and Development Teams worked closely alongside our clients to configure and introduce many of the new and enhanced features available within the solution”.

“Due to the highly collaborative nature of this release we know that Pitram 2015 is effective and delivers many benefits within the mine environment. We’re also confident that this latest version continues MICROMINE’s tradition of producing software solutions that help users to increase
productivity and cost efficiency”.

NEW AND ENHANCED FEATURES INCLUDE:

New material movement and grade management capabilities

Through Pitram’s materials management solution, users can improve their tracking of tonnes and grades from the source to the ROM or Mill. Stockpile levels can be monitored and their composition reported on at a glance, assisting with more accurate blending plans for the Mill. Additionally, the
reconciliation functionality provides the ability to quickly complete the end of month mass balance of tonnes and grades from the mill back to primary locations.

New drill and blast functionality

Pitram 2015 includes a new drill and blast dilution functionality which has been designed to increase control over ore dilution, resulting in the treatment of less waste, reduced costs and increased profit margin. By importing shape design data parameters, Pitram will provide geologists and engineers with the tools to assign dilution to their production and development firings underground or to their open pit blasts.

Enhanced surface fleet management capabilities

Pitram’s surface fleet management capabilities have been enhanced through the provision of high precision machine guidance. Equipment operators will be able to perform activities such as drilling, excavation and loading more precisely, lowering dilution, avoiding equipment damage and ensuring objectives are achieved more efficiently.

Enhanced 3D visualisation and tagging

Pitram 2015 includes improved 3D visualisation and tagging which will provide operations with instant and visual information, and allow them to improve safety and enhance communication of information through reduced radio traffic. Through a rich visualisation interface, a highly detailed 3D map of the mine site can be displayed and manipulated. Operators can see equipment and personnel locations without the need for a radio or other manual location reporting methods. Load and dump events can be automatically triggered by a configurable rules engine.

Integration with more third-party mining solutions

Pitram 2015 now integrates with more third-party mining solutions including Sandvik’s Automine, Mine Site Technology’s Impact Vehicle Intelligence Platform and Loadman Systems. These integrations will provide personnel with a more complete and comprehensive understanding of a site and its mine activities.
