MEMPHIS, Tenn., Nov. 13, 2014 – Hazlux® Industrial Luminaires from Thomas & Betts now are available with light-emitting diode (LED) technology, offering users in hazardous environments greater energy efficiency, as well as longer life, reduced maintenance and a smaller footprint.
“Not only are Hazlux® Industrial Luminaires designed, tested and certified for use in hazardous areas and adverse environmental conditions, but they are now the most efficient luminaire for use in the harshest indoor and outdoor environments with the addition of LED technology,” said Chad Smith, vice president, product management and engineering, at Thomas & Betts.
Hazlux® Industrial Luminaires are suitable for use in Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C and D; Zone 2, Groups IIC, IIB, IIC. They are also rated for Class II, Division 1 and 2, Groups E, F and G; and Class III. They are also compliant with UL1598A for Marine Locations, NEMA-4X, UL844 and CSA C22.2 No. 137. Rated for extreme temperatures of minus 40 F to 131 F (minus 40 C to 55C) or minus 31 F to 104 F (minus 35 C to 40 C), depending on model.
Additional features include a simple hinge arrangement that enables faster and easier installation with “hands-free” wiring, instant “on” and “restrike,” and may be retrofitted into existing Hazlux® 3 applications. Hazlux® Industrial Luminaires are constructed of high-strength, lightweight, corrosion-resistant and copper-free aluminum, finished with baked, electro-deposited, pure-epoxy powder. All exposed hardware is corrosion-resistant stainless steel.
