Boliden’s Q2 earnings disappoint despite near fivefold rise
The miner said higher metal prices boosted its earnings, while lower treatment charges and metal premiums weighed on the result.

A remarkably generous chairman in the Indian city of Surat is attracting global attention for lavishing expensive pre-Diwali gifts on staff at his diamond polishing company.
Savji Dholakia, who runs a diamond export company in Surat, gave away 491 cars, 525 pieces of diamond jewellery and 200 apartments as loyalty bonuses handed to employees of Hari Krishna Exports, India.com reports.
His generosity is well known in Surat, the hub of India’s thriving diamond trade where rough diamonds are polished and exported. In 2012, he gave away cars to three employees. Last year, he gifted cars to 72 staff members and now is said than over 1,200 of his 7,500 employees worldwide have benefited from the gifts.
The diamond retailer has also insured 280 employees who have been with the company for more than a decade to the tune of $160,000 each, and makes it possible for employees’ families to go on annual pilgrimages at company cost.
Dholakia, a primary school dropout from a small village near Amreli in north Gujarat, moved to Surat as a diamond worker and worked his way up.
