(Friday 30th January, 2008): Duratread announces the availability of Mining tires from their warehouse in Manzanillo, Mexico. 27.00-49, one of the most popular sizes of tire for Dump Trucks such as Caterpillar 777 and Komatsu 785 are now available from stock for immediate delivery to mines in Mexico.
Duratread OTR Mining Tires, launched in 2006 are produced in E3/E4 and L3/L4/L5 and a range of sizes from 25″ to 63″. They have grown in popularity with the major mining companies throughout the region due to good durability and performance statistics, coupled with expert local support.
The opening of a bonded warehouse in Mexico is the latest in a series of warehouses opened by Duratread in Latin America during the past year. The other facilities are located in Iquique, Chile and Panama.
Stocking OTR Mining tires in the region means that Duratread will be able to facilitate quicker, easier and more consistent supplies to customers in Latin America. In addition, Duratread intends to shorten the lead times and reduce the capital investment that mining companies would normally have tied up in tire stocks. Duratread will be making more sizes of OTR Mining Tires available from stock in the near future.
In addition, and as part of a strategy for increasing presence in the Mexican market, Duratread has recently formed agreements with Tyre Protector International to combine the supply of tires and tire sealant to OTR Mining Customers. Tyre Protector is an advanced thixotropic gel formula produced in the UK that can significantly reduce punctures, vehicle downtime and tire related expenses. Duratreads intention is that in the near future, Tyre Protector will also be stocked alongside Duratread OTR tires to facilitate easier logistics.
