A pity they didn’t include the black diamonds “carbonados” which have been hypothesised not to have an earthly origin. They are not associated with Lamproites, Kimberlites, the very rarely diamondiferous ultramafic volcanics or known diamond provinces. They are found only in the Central African Republic and Brazil and occur as large aggregates of millions of diamond crystals fused together.
