Bosch Rexroth has just released the latest version of its Fit4Filter smartphone app, which allows customers to cross reference and replace their existing hydraulic filter elements with the corresponding Rexroth filters. The app, now at version 3.1, is available for both Apple® and Android™ devices and is an outstanding tool for upgrading filter elements on hydraulic power units in virtually any application—plastic injection molding machines, offshore drilling equipment, machine tools, metal stamping machines, steel making equipment, and more.
Fit4Filter includes cross references to thousands of filter elements, and a unique “sync-on-demand” feature allows users to update the app with new filter elements and other data with just a few finger taps. A highlight feature in the latest update is an integrated QR code scanner, which can be used to scan codes on Rexroth replacement element stickers to quickly and accurately build a list of replacement filter elements. This new scanning feature eliminates part number transcription errors, and the resulting list can then be easily emailed or sent via SMS to Rexroth filter support personnel worldwide for a local price quote. QR-code equipped stickers will be supplied with Rexroth filter elements shipping in the 4th quarter of this year. Users simply apply the sticker in a prominent location on or near the filter element for easy access when replacement is needed. For added convenience, the app now also includes a search feature to determine the correct Rexroth replacement element in any Rexroth filter assembly.
The app also indicates whether the selected Rexroth filter is part of the company’s GoTo Focused Delivery Program for North America; and for U.S. users, the app also supplies direct links to specific Rexroth filter elements available on Amazon.com. For users in other countries, the new version offers expanded language support, too, including English, German, French and Portuguese. Additionally, the app also offers the most up-to-date contact information for Rexroth filter support personnel in 29 countries, so that customers worldwide may inquire locally about replacement filters. Connecting with the appropriate Rexroth contact person is easy with built-in e-mail links and one-touch dialing.
“OEMs and equipment owners are constantly on the lookout for mobile apps that will save them time, and the latest version of Fit4Filter includes new capabilities that will make it faster than ever to identify and locate replacement parts right from the job site and the factory floor,” said Kerry DeWitt, Product Manager Filtration Systems Sales. “It’s a significant upgrade over the previous version.”
Fit4Filter 3.1 is the most recent upgrade for users of Rexroth apps. It joins Rexroth’s flagship app, GoTo Products, now at version 3.5, in helping customers get streamlined access to Rexroth’s Drive & Control technologies. Rexroth’s latest versions of iPad® and iPhone® and Android™ Apps for the GoTo program were released in late 2013, with a significant data update in April 2014.
Fit4Filter is available now in the Apple App Store and the Google Play™ Store.
