USGS releases first study to assess global earthquake risk to mineral supplies
Earthquakes have the potential to substantially affect mining operations, leading to supply chain disruptions that adversely affect the global economy.
Rio Tinto are seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) for a 3200 tph Voest-Alpine iron ore stacker located in Western Australia. The machine been in service for only 12 years of a designed 20 year life. It is being replaced by a larger unit in late 2014 as part of a capacity upgrade.
