Germany Chancellor plans lithium deal with Serbia after Rio ruling
Olaf Scholz plans to visit Serbia this week to secure supplies of lithium that are critical for the nation’s energy transition and auto industry.

PERTH, AUSTRALIA – 28 May 2014: MICROMINE, the Leading provider of software solutions and services to the international exploration and mining sector, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Wally Borovac as MICROMINE Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
MICROMINE’s founder and Managing Director, Mr Graeme Tuder, will take-up the role of Executive Director. Mr Tuder commenced Micromine 28 years ago, and has built the company into a leading provider of technology solutions for the mining sector, with offices and support in all the leading resource centres around the world. In his new role he will take responsibility for the regional offices and will work closely with those offices to continue to deliver excellent services and products to local clients. Existing CEO, Kevin Fitzpatrick, will assume the role of Chief Financial Officer, taking responsibility for global finances, human resources and administration of the group.
The Chairman, Mr Alan Broome, acknowledged the significant contribution both executives have made to the company and welcomed Mr Borovac to the executive position. “We are pleased to secure Wally’s services as he brings with him significant corporate experience and the skills to take MICROMINE forward. He has been a Non-Executive Director of the company since 2001 and prior to that an advisor to the company since 1991, and has an excellent understanding of the business and the products. Having worked closely with the existing executive and board, strongly contributing to our success, he will ensure a seamless and effective transition for the company.”
Mr Borovac is an experienced executive having held senior executive positions within both public and private companies. He brings to the role proven leadership skills and a wealth of experience across a broad range of industries including energy, telecommunications, technology and mining services. In his last position as senior finance executive at Verve Energy/ Synergy Mr Borovac was responsible for strategic initiatives dealing with technology, finance and procurement, and involved in projects which delivered hundreds of million dollars of infrastructure development.
