Komatsu, Finning CAT, and FLSmidth lead the ranking of best mining suppliers in Chile, the largest copper producing country, reveals a study published this week by industrial research company Phibrand.
In its third annual edition, the report that gathers answers from 370 mining executives of local and global companies highlights how perception of “brand” and “performance” affect commercial relations from the executives’ point of view.
According to the report the suppliers that contributed the most to the development of the sector in Chile last year were Komatsu (12%), Finning CAT (11%) and FLSmidth (7%) in the international category, while Enaex (16%), Elecmetal (7%) and JRI (6%) ranked as the top local suppliers.
The study also highlights brands that have helped the most to improve miners’ productivity:
The study concludes that 62% of the participants believe they can find a better supplier than the one they already have and a 37% has thought about changing their current supplier.
