ELECTRONICS
How does mining connect BC? Without metals such as copper or industrial minerals such as silica, it would be impossible to do many of the things we do each day. Every smartphone, computer, television, radio, battery, and satellite is made possible by such materials.
TRANSPORTATION
Without materials such as steel, aluminum, and concrete, it would make everyday transportation much more difficult. Platinum group metals are also essential in the catalytic converters of vehicles, which prevent 4 million tons of harmful emissions in BC per year.
