First Quantum says Jiangxi can nominate one person to board
Jiangxi has also agreed that it will not dispose of its shares under a block deal.
Over 6,000 mining industry professional are expected to attend the 2014 CIM Convention taking place at the Vancouver Convention Centre from May 10 to 13.

Conference organizers have designated the theme of this years convention as “Mining 4 Everyone”: mining takes place when it recognizes the needs of many stakeholders, and mining also requires a group of people coming together from diverse backgrounds to be successful.
There are a series of workshops ranging from operating under new rules NI 43-101 to establishing a social license.
Past CIM conferences rotated between between Vancouver, Montreal, Edmonton and Toronto. The CIM out grew its Edmonton digs. Toronto is also no longer feasible. The annual PDAC International Convention in Toronto, which runs approximately eight weeks shy of CIM’s conference, overshadows the CIM conference. Asking miners to make two trips to Toronto in such a short span of time dampened attendance.
The CIM conference will now alternate between Vancouver and Montreal until 2023. The CIM says the two-city convention schedule will also allow the organization to negotiate more favourable terms.
Founded in 1898, the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM) is the leading technical society of professionals in the Canadian Minerals, Metals, Materials and Energy Industries. CIM has over 14,600 members, convened from industry, academia and government.
