GoGold Resources (TSX: GGD) said Wednesday it expects the first silver and gold dore to pour in the Parral tailings project in Chihuahua, Mexico, at the end of this month.
The Halifax-based company has been delivering ore to the heap leach facility in Hidalgo del Parral in the state of Chihuahua since late April and it has started the commissioning of agglomeration and ore stacking.
The entire processing facility is approximately 90% complete with the remainder to be finished by the end of May. The processing is expected to gradually increase to 5,000 tonnes per day over the next three months.
The fully-financed Parral tailings project, a 141-hectare property in the heart ofMexico’s silver belt, hosts a large tailings left over from over Mina La Prieta mine, which operated in the area for over 300 years. GoGold says inefficient recovery left significant gold and silver behind, 214,000 ounces gold and 26,400,000 ounces silver mineral resource.
The company has been recently on the news after successfully acquiring in April Vancouver-based Animas Resources Ltd. (TSXV:ANI), which owned mineral rights to the Santa Gertrudis gold mine in Sonora.
