Zimbabwe’s Kuvimba signs $310 million lithium mine deal
The company did not name the investors, only saying they were "leading foreign British and Chinese companies in the global lithium market".
Last week a truck carrying uranium oxide in Malawi toppled while negotiating a curve in the road and spilled a small quantity of uranium oxide concentrate, said Paladin Energy in statement.
The shipping contractor was part of a truck convoy that was transporting UOC from the Paladin’s Kayelekera Mine in northern Malawi to the Port of Walvis Bay in Namibia.
The driver was not injured. The co-driver suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Personnel recovered the UOC as well as contaminated soil, which was taken to Kayelekera Mine’s tailing facility. The remaining four trucks resumed the trip to Walvis Bay without incident.
The company said the country’s regulatory authorities were informed.
Over the last five days Paladin Energy is down 3.3% to 48 cents. Year-to-date it is up 7.87%.
