Mining’s old guard needs strong medicine
A new report details subpar investor returns in the mining industry over the last decade, particularly big cap diversified companies which have not adapted to new realities.
Gold Reserve reports that it was invited to a meeting held on June 18, 2008 with the Venezuelan Ministry of Environment (”MinAmb”), led by Vice Minister of Environmental Planning and Administration, Ing. Merly Garcia and assisted by legal advisor Dra. Lucy Vidal. Crystallex International also attended the meeting. According to Vice Minister Garcia, the objective of the meeting was to inform both companies of the decision taken by the government to reconsider the permitting process for both projects, subject to meeting certain criteria.
