Mining IT and Communication Summit Happening in Toronto

Toronto, Canada: Over 100 senior officials are expected to participate in Fleming Gulf’s 2nd Global Mining IT and Communication Summit at the Westin Harbour Castle Toronto on 5-6 November, where they will get an overview of cutting edge IT strategies and technologies to catalyze mining operations and reduce operational costs in the current market scenario. 25 distinguished speakers from Canada, United Kingdom, South Africa, Madagascar, Russia, Germany and USA  will be sharing latest updates on communication tools, mobility, cloud computing, business intelligence, wireless technologies and much more. In an address by ICTC, Namir Anani, President and Chairman will address the audience on “The Change Imperative in the Mining Sector”, throwing light on the ICT emerging technologies and talent needs.

Craig Charlton, Global CIO at VALE will present a session on “Energising IT Cost Centre to Value Generator”, through which he will encapsulate the essentials of establishing an IT strategy based on shareholder value. The session will be followed by a presentation from Scott Wise, CTO – Mining, Oil & Gas Vertical at British Telecom. His presentation titled “Deploying Next-Generation Communications Tools Across Today’s ICT Infrastructure to Address Challenges in the Mining Industry”, will address the crucial issue of connecting people and operations in remote and harsh environments.

The keynote address will be delivered by Dror Orbach, Chief Operating Officer and Rory Friedman, Vice President of Illumiti, wherein they will speak about accelerated implementation of core business systems for mining.
