World-renowned Geostatician to present at new Mining Geology Conference

Resource and Mining Geology Conference 2013 in Cardiff, Wales. The breakfast seminar, titled “Emerging Techniques and Applications in Mineral Exploration,” is scheduled on Tuesday, October 22nd at 8.00 am, and will be conducted by Mohan Srivastava, one of the world’s pre-eminent authorities on resource estimation and geostatistics. Srivastava is also a Principal Consultant within Micromine Consulting Services (MCS).

As one of the world’s foremost experts on statistical methods to earth sciences, Srivastava will share recent advances in the use of recursive partitioning techniques to derive maximum value from geological, exploration and mining data. Real-world examples and case studies will be utilised to examine current practices. A question and answer session will also be included. Recognised internationally as an expert in the field of geostatistics, Srivastava is author of An Introduction to Applied Geostatistics, the major introductory textbook on geostatistics. Srivastava also has extensive experience with resource and reserve estimation for a range of mineral projects, has worked for junior exploration companies and senior producers, advises Boards of Directors and has served as an expert witness. He is respected as an adviser to governments and to standards-development organisations. Srivastava joined MCS as Principal Consultant in January 2012.
