New book ‘102 Things to Do with a Hole in the Ground‘ spotlights global reclamation projects
Stories of reinvented coal mining regions, regenerated communities and rebuilt ecosystems are told in a new book published this month.
Opponents of Andina 244 focus on the impact of the project on glaciers and water resources in the region. Codelco says only 6 rock glaciers and 37 hectares will be affected by the new pit compared to the 45,000 hectares covered by existing glaciers in the region.
