Canadian junior gold miner Batero Gold Corp (TSX-V:BAT) said Thursday the company’s board has accepted the resignation of Brandon Rook as President, Chief Executive Officer and Director effective immediately.

The Colombia-focused firm said Rook is being replaced by senior vice president and COO, Darryl Lindsay, as the interim CEO.

The Vancouver-based company’s main short-term goal is to advance the La Cumbre oxide deposit in Colombia towards a production decision.

“The exploration work completed to date and its success in identifying resources indicates that the project is ready to move to the next stage,” said Lindsay in a statement.
