Fate of Rosia Montana gold mine to be decided in November

The Romanian Parliament has voted to establish a commission that will decide on the fate of Canadian company Gabriel Resources’ Rosia Montana gold mine project in Transylvania.

The commission will provide a report on crucial legislation that, if upheld, will clear a path for Gabriel to develop at Rosia Montana.

The members of the commission, including 21 senators and deputies, have until the 20th of October to produce a report. A final parliamentary vote is expected in early November.
