WesTech Appoints New President and CEO

Salt Lake City, September 9, 2013– In the midst of celebrating its 40th year in business, WesTech Engineering is announcing a change in leadership. WesTech’s Board of Directors has appointed Rex Plaizieras the company’s new President and CEO. The move was effective as of September 1.

Plaizier has a 27-year career with WesTech and has served as the company’s president for five years. He holds Master’s Degrees in Mining Engineering and in Business Administration. Plaizier assumes

leadership at a time when WesTech has built a strong and growing brand in the industrial, mineral, and municipal water and wastewater treatment markets both domestically and internationally.

“After 40 years WesTech is positioned, better than ever before, to earn and serve customers in all their markets. The company has differentiated itself with a reputation for listening to its customers and responding with reliable, can-do service,” said Jim Larsen, chairman of WesTech’s Board of Directors. “As a Board, we appointed Rex Plaizier to this position because we believe he embodies the principles that built the WesTech brand and will lead the company effectively into its next 40 years.”

WesTech’s former CEO, Steve Brewster, has successfully led the company for the past five years. During his tenure, WesTech’s annual revenue increased nearly 53 percent. Brewster is known for his passion for the values WesTech has built upon. Those close to WesTech are familiar that for the last three years Brewster has fought an aggressive cancer. Brewster will remain at WesTech providing leadership for strategic WesTech projects.
