Swiss June gold exports fall to the lowest in more than two years

A contract worker at Fortescue Metals Group’s Christmas Creek iron ore mine in Australia’s Pilbara has died, the Department of Mines reports.
The man, in his 20s, lost his life at 8:00 pm Tuesday while working on the site.
The death, the first for Western Australia mining in nearly two years, is under investigation by the Department of Mines.
The mine site director of operations suspended work last night, passing along his condolences: “our thoughts and prayers are with the worker’s loved ones at this time.”
