Mine Site Technologies announces strategic partnership agreement with Mining Consultancy Services

PRETORIA, South Africa, August 14, 2013 – Mine Site Technologies (MST) today announced that it has appointed Mining Consultancy Services (MCS) as its exclusive reseller and implementation partner for coal mine solutions in South Africa.  This partnership brings together the highly respected international industry expertise and production optimisation consultancy services of MCS, with the technology innovation of MST.

MST is recognised globally as a pioneer of technology solutions to improve mine operations and safety, and is successfully installed in over 500 mines worldwide. The company has a 25 year history of providing critical communications networks and solutions for automation-enablement, production optimisation, vehicle and personnel tracking, and safety in underground and surface mining applications.

“We are delighted to announce this partnership with MCS, an organisation with such depth of knowledge in the local South African market and a reputation for delivering high value to customers,” said Jurie van Rensburg, Regional Manager for MST in Africa. “We see great opportunities for mining organisations to derive true business ROI from our operational optimisation technology and services.  This formal agreement allows us to rapidly expand our footprint in South Africa with a trusted partner with whom we have already enjoyed a successful relationship over several years both in South Africa and internationally.”

While MST will draw on its global domain expertise to provide critical network design, solution architecture and other specialist support, MCS will be responsible for overall sales, consulting, implementation and maintenance services.

Zaais van Zyl, MCS Managing Director said: “Local customers will benefit from the value both organisations bring to the table in this perfect union.  MST solutions provide access to live operational data, which is critical in order to derive actionable business intelligence for timely and effective decision-making; while MCS has the credentials to ensure organisations will achieve tangible outcomes from deploying this enabling technology. This is a key imperative in our industry today.”

For MST, this partnership accelerates its aggressive growth plans for the coal sector in South Africa.

“By partnering with MCS, we are bringing our industry leading solutions to market through an organisation that truly understands the operational and business issues faced by coal mines today. That translates to optimised output, minimised costs and reduced risk for customers,” said Roy Pater, MST Sales Director – Africa & Australia.

“The partnership is a great business proposition for MST and MCS, and at the end of the day it’s our customers who will come out winners with technology deployments that add real value to their operations,” he added.
