Sepro Mineral Systems Corp. Commissions DMS Pilot Plant for Met-Solve Laboratories Ltd.

Langley, British Columbia
July 12, 2013

Sepro Mineral Systems Corp. is pleased to announce the commissioning of a DMS (Dense Medium Separation) pilot plant for Met-Solve Laboratories. The pilot plant utilizes a single stage 250mm Tri-Flow separator to simulate multi-stage dense medium separations. Sepro has over 20 years of DMS design and operations experience.

DMS is used for a wide range of mineral separations to produce saleable, or in a pre-concentration duty, product for further upgrade in a mill or processing plant. DMS mineral separations include coal, diamond, tin, lead, zinc, tungsten, nickel, chromite, manganese, iron, antimony, fluorspar, barites, bauxite, spodumene, phosphate, potash etc.

The pilot plant is used to batch test up to 200kg of material sized between 20mm and 0.5mm. The range of d50 separation cut-points, using ferrosilicon medium, can be varied from 2.70 to 3.20 SG with a separation efficiency epm <0.040 for 2mm density tracers.
