Jim Rogers has been touting investment in Russia for some time but his latest line is that international capital is welcome in the country and that President Putin may be trying to “turn his KGB thug reputation around,” which is good for investors.
For the first time since he first visited the Soviet Union in 1966, Rogers is pleased with what he sees. He’s looking at currency, stocks and bonds.
“Everybody hates Russia for many good reasons… including me for a long time. That’s usually a place that you should look, when people hate a market. And so I am looking.”
