SGS Opens Three New On-Site Analytical Laboratories in Canada, Chile and the Philippines

SGS is pleased to announce the opening of three new on-site analytical facilities. SGS’ clients have taken the opportunity to outsource their analytical requirements for exploration or production laboratory services for Canada Lithium’s Quebec Lithium project (La Corne, Quebec, Canada), Lumina Copper’s Caserones project (Copiapo, Chile) and OceanaGold’s Didipio project (Luzon, the Philippines). These laboratories have been designed to service projects as they progress to production by providing critical operational, environmental and metallurgical data that guide site activities as well as establish the value of the products produced.

SGS is well recognized in the laboratory testing sector and these new facilities reflect a commitment to ensuring that all services are accessible to all of their clients. They operate on-site and near-site laboratories in some of the most remote locations in the world, regardless of the temperature, the altitude or how high volume the program. SGS’ unequalled experience in remote laboratories ensures smooth start-up and operation.

These new on-site facilities will strategically support the growing needs of these clients and complement SGS’ unmatched network of over 150 commercial, on-site, prep and mobile sample preparation units (MSPU) geochemical laboratories, 12 metallurgical facilities, 5 mineralogy facilities, one plant design and engineering facility, over 120 energy minerals labs, 34 fertilizer labs and over 75 trade offices. Of these sites, 5 labs are fully integrated geochemistry, environmental, metallurgy and mineralogy (GEMM) labs (located in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile and South Africa) and 3 provide integrated geochemistry-metallurgy services (Mexico, Peru and Russia).

These new on-site facilities complement SGS Minerals Services’ existing geochemical and metallurgical facilities and further expand their broad network of labs around the world. SGS offers a wide range of services to the minerals sector including geochemical analysis, resource calculation, mineralogy, metallurgy, advanced systems, water treatment and trade services.
