Chile copper, lithium mines rattled by 7.4-magnitude quake
The earthquake struck 45 km outside San Pedro de Atacama, northern Chile, home to country's major copper and lithium mines.
The CRONIMET Group announces today that the maintenance work at the Armenian Zangezur Copper and Molybdenum Combine AG (ZCMC), originally planned for early 2009, will be performed early due to the current market situation. It is expected that the maintenance work will last four weeks. During this period, production will be reduced to the technological minimum.
