Smart automation delivers gains

Tony Richardson and Ian Ruthenberg will be sharing insights on the potential financial and profit gains of integrated automated infrastructure, and designing a system architecture that meets automation objectives at Mining IQ’s Mine Site Automation & Communication conference.

Automation of mining, processing and transportation is becoming increasingly more attractive as companies seek to maximise safety and returns from resources of reducing grade in competitive, fast-paced global markets.

Ian’s presentation, designing a system architecture to meet your business and automation objectives, will focus on:

  • Enabling automation and optimisation through architecture design
  • Designing a system architecture for information flow
  • Network design for scalability, flexibility and security
  • Balancing IT and mine technicians’ roles and responsibilities

Anthony’s presentation, understanding the impact integrated infrastructure networks can have on increasing your productivity and profits, will cover:

  • Creating functional working relationships between resource developers, rail and port authorities to create synergy amongst infrastructure operations
  • Understanding the financial and profit gains of an integrated automated infrastructure network for your mine site
  • Increasing the efficiency and load of automated trains

The Mine Site Automation & Communication conference will focus on the implementation of proven operational strategies to reduce costs and increase return on investment. It will take place at the Hilton Hotel, in Brisbane, from 12–14 March 2013.
