Building on the strength of one of the industry’s best global service parts distribution networks, Cat Logistics celebrated the formal openings of two new Parts Distribution Centers in Spokane, Washington and Arvin, California last week.
On January 10 and 11, Caterpillar employees and dealers along with suppliers, customers and members of the community gathered in Spokane, Washington and Arvin, California for ribbon cutting
ceremonies to officially open the facilities that are both part of a multiyear expansion and enhancement of the global Cat parts distribution network, dedicated to supporting Caterpillar customers and dealers in the region.
“The expansion of the Cat Parts distribution network is another way Caterpillar is delivering on our commitment to providing unmatched parts availability to customers and dealers around the world,” said Stu Levenick, Caterpillar group president for Customer and Dealer Support. “The grand openings are a great way to reaffirm our promise to providing the right part, at the right place, at the right time for our customers.”
Both facilities began receiving inbound shipments in August 2012 and began outbound shipments in October 2012. Operations for both facilities are ramping up and when fully operational, will employ around 150 people and service numerous Cat dealers in the region.
“All of these investments in the parts distribution network have a singular purpose of ensuring that Caterpillar and our dealers support the needs of customers better than anyone else,” said Steve Larson, president of Caterpillar Logistics Inc. and vice president of Parts Distribution & Logistics Division. “I am excited about the results that have been delivered with the openings of Spokane and the California Distribution Centers and am also very proud of all of the Caterpillar employees who are working in or supporting these operations safely every day.”
