Mining technology developer Maptek has appointed resellers for its Vulcan geological modelling and mine planning software in Mongolia and India.
‘Maptek has the best products, and we are committed to delivering the best technical support and services for our customers in all regions,’ said Maptek General Manager Australasia and the Pacific, Peter Johnson.
This is the first permanent presence for Maptek in Mongolia, and is an essential step for delivering improved support to users of Vulcan. It will also increase access to the latest technology for the Mongolian mining industry.
‘To date, Maptek technical services teams from our Adelaide, Perth, Sydney and Denver offices have been travelling to Mongolia to roll out and support Vulcan installations,’ added Johnson.
‘While our staff are experienced in training users on remote sites, our new relationship with Information Technology Experts LLC in Mongolia will deliver better response times, closer day to day interaction and local language support to our customers in Mongolia’, he explained.
‘India is another region where miners are demanding better technical capability to meet demands in the local industry. It has a wealth of natural resources and significant areas yet to be fully explored,’ Johnson added.
Maptek has entered into an agreement with Sumeru Cooee Dustbloc Private Limited to deliver the Vulcan geological modelling and mine planning software to the Indian mining industry.
Sumeru Managing Director Mr S. C. Hada said of the agreement, ‘We have been associated with Indian mining for more than 20 years. We look forward to bringing Vulcan to every mining company across India to improve their efficiency and profitability by optimising their operations.’
‘I am certain that together with Sumeru, we will make a strong team delivering the world’s best technology solutions and providing outstanding local support,’ said Johnson.
