China’s widening wealth gap: woman posts pics of dress made from banknotes

While the widening wealth gap and the perceived unfairness of the current political system in China has been well-reported,  it may be the symbols of excess that prove to be more damaging.

Queue pics of a woman showing off a dress made of out banknotes that is worth 200,000 renminbi ( Can$31,946.40). People’s Daily Online reports that the dress was a gift from her sugar daddy.

BBC reports that the top 10% of households in China own 85% of the country’s total assets and 57% of total income, levels found only in some African countries.
