Zambia miners rescued after nationwide power outage
Zambia suffered a nationwide blackout following a power system disturbance.
Conflictos Mineros reports 32 communities in Puebla, Mexico have given Chinese company JDC Minerals an ultimatum of 24 hours to abandon its La Lupe mine.
The protest against the planned gold-silver-copper mine was attended by 5,000 citizens and was followed by a march that blocked access to the mine according to the mining blog.
JDC Minerals already has all the state and local permits it requires to operate the mine.

If Mexico wants to have better relationship with China then it better respect China’s rights and interests. Remember, two can play this game. And if the US is behind this, then it too better realize that China is getting stronger and can shut US out of Asia. Do you really want to kick over the hornets’ nest?

Lousy reporting as there is no data!! Chinese mine owners and Mexican demonstrators – and so what are the details????

The Mexicans are right in their complaint, Chinese mining companies do not use local workforce, they send theirs and these people never leave the country, in Zambia in Luanshia mine the Chinese bought a mine in 2009 and they sent 500 prisoners, to work like slaves, no salary, living in barracks like pigs, and the local people waiting for an opportunity to work, in Canada they want to do the same to bring 2000 Chinese cheap almost free labor using the excuse of labor shortage, with such low salary they will pay almost nothing in taxes.
In Venezuela the National China petroleum company does not allow the Chinese staff to talk to the few Venezuelan professionals, and they live in compounds without having any connection with the locals, they send the ladies to the market in buses and return them to the compound.
From my point of view they do not bring any help to the local communities, they just want to get as much metal and ore as they can.

Don’t put up with this kind of behavior China. If this protest succeeds you can expect protests at all your other mining sites. I would suggest that you send your aircraft carrier (the one you bought from Russia ) to the Mexican Coast and conduct airstrikes until the protesters see the errors of their ways.
After that I would cut their wages in half and use the money to build and extremely large statue of Chairmen Mao in close proximity to the La Lupe Mine.
