Mining’s old guard needs strong medicine
A new report details subpar investor returns in the mining industry over the last decade, particularly big cap diversified companies which have not adapted to new realities.
Osisko Mining Corporation (OSK.TO) reported that it generated a net profit of $26.2 million ($0.07 per share) during the third quarter of 2012 versus a net profit of $9.3 million in the third quarter of 2011 ($0.02 per share). Analysts expected $0.05 per share.
