Ivanhoe’s Kipushi zinc mine in the DRC officially reopens
The restart marked exactly a century since the mine first went into production.
South Africa’s National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) said today that roughly 12,000 dismissed Anglo Platinum (Amplats) workers have still not accepted the company’s reinstatement offer “because of the levels of intimidation in Rustenberg.”
Amplats said yesterday that the reinstatement offer was still on the table for those who wanted to return.
