Which US presidential candidate does gold prefer?
Gold loves chaos and should be hitting new highs, especially with inflation coming down and with it, two rate cuts likely before year’s end.
A huge 60-kilogram gold nugget allegedly found near Kalgoorlie has the Australian mining community literally suffering from gold fever.
According to ABC News, the nugget has an estimated value of roughly $1.6 million.
The photo of the boomerang-shaped object has gone far and wide. Some experts quoted by The Australian seem to believe it is just a hoax. Others are more enthusiastic:
“It’s enormous and you hear rumours of weights from anywhere between 27 kilos to 60 kilos,” Acting Superintendent of Goldfields Police Darren Seivwright told ABC News.
“If that is a 60 kilo chunk of gold, that is a significant find.
“If it is, I wish it were mine.”

Looks like brass pours into a ravine in the ground, not golden at all and there is no sale or reference point. I think it’s a hoax.

that is not a natural thing but is made by someone. It didn’t happen in nature. No, sorry- not a believeble story.

It’s a pickup tail by the looks of it. The morphology, colour and lustre of the ‘gold’ all look fine to me (I’ve panned and examined thousands of grains). How these things form, particularly at this size, is a mystery. Probably the result of some long process of dissolution of the gangue minerals, then the gold being locally dissolved and reprecipitated and perhaps physically ‘annealed’ as well. Congrats if it is real!
