Police Remove Last Hold Out at Osisko Mining’s Malartic Gold Mining Project

The last hold out preventing the construction of Osisko Mining’s Malartic Gold Mining Project was removed by police on Monday.

CBC reports that Ken Massé was forcibly removed from his home by the police.

The man was reportedly offered $350,000 for his property, which he turned down. A provincial tribunal will now determine the compensation for his home.

The project, described on the company’s website as Osisko’s flagship property, is located in Quebec’s prolific Abitibi Gold Belt, immediately south of the town of Malartic, approximately 20 kilometres west of the town Val d’Or.
