Ivanplats’s debut set to be one of Toronto’s biggest IPO’s this year

Mining junior Ivanplats has applied for listing on the Toronto Stock Exchange in what is set to be one of the largest IPO’s in Canada this year.
The Financial Post writes that Ivanplat, a private company since 1994, lodged a preliminary prospectus for the IPO on Tuesday, and its offering is expected to be in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
The man behind Ivanplats’ listing is legendary mining veteran Robert Friedland, who was last involved with the development of the Oyu Tolgoi project in Mongolia with Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. (currently Turquoise Hill Resources).
Ivanplats controls two copper properties in the Democratic Republic of Congo as well as South Africa’s Platreef platinum project.
