Freeport Indonesia to process 400,000t of copper concentrate at new smelter
Earlier this month, Freeport obtained an export permit for the rest of the year from the government.
A recent survey conducted by resource and energy sector HR firm EarthStream shows mining professionals around the world expect major salary gains in the upcoming year.
65% of mining professionals surveyed expect raises of over 15% in the next year, with nearly one fifth of survey participants seeking salary increases of over 35%.
Geologists in particular are highly optimistic about short-term remuneration gains, with 39% seeking rises of 25% or more.
The survey polled over 2000 professionals around the world working in the broader mining sector.
The heady optimism of mining professionals with regard to near-term remuneration levels could place further pressure on mining companies already beleaguered by uncertain commodities prices.

The cause is chemistry – better living thru chemistry – smoke borne chemicals in particular, although, certain baked goods produce legendary optimisms as well.
