Turkey top envoy goes to Niger in bid to secure uranium supplies
The trip comes after Niger’s military government withdrew mining rights from Canadian and French companies to develop uranium deposits.
International Mining report that worker safety is an essential and core aspect of mining at the Aguas Tenidas copper/zinc mine which has just taken delivery of three 12 person state-of-the-art Refuge Chambers from MineARC Systems of Australia. Iberian Minerals, through its wholly owned subsidiary MATSA, is currently proceeding with the re-opening of the Aguas Tenidas copper/zinc project located in the Region of Andalucia, in the southwest of Spain. The three refuge chambers will be located underground within the mine to ensure the safety of all workers.
The specially-designed MineARC Refuge Chambers can sustain life for up to 36 hours and are fitted with:
MineARC Systems reports that it is constantly refining its chambers. Recent innovations include an interactive control system which allows remote monitoring of key functions, including comprehensive battery management, gas scrubber control and testing and enhanced communication facilities, including photo imaging to allow monitoring of the entire chamber.
