Dynasty Metals’ processing plant robbed at gunpoint

The company announced today that its processing plant at the Zaruma gold project, located in the El Oro province of Ecuador, was robbed early Monday morning at gunpoint.

According to the report, “A group of armed robbers gained access to the site and escaped with dore bars containing approximately 1,300 ounces of gold and 4,000 ounces of silver.”

At current prices, the gold alone is worth $2 million.

Fortunately no one was seriously hurt during the robbery; and Robert Washer, the CEO of Dynasty Metals, reassured that “the safety and well-being of our employees is our principal concern and we will be providing appropriate support to all employees, particularly those directly involved in the incident.”

Police are currently on site at the gold project and Dynasty has filed a claim to their insurance company to cover its loss.

Dynasty is a Canadian mining company with three different gold-silver projects based in Ecuador.
