Tectonic Metals gets funding for gold exploration in Alaska
The company's Flat gold project is located 40 km north of the giant Donlin gold project.
Graham Scott from Graham Scott and Associates (an engineering company in Rockhampton) says that the availability of high-paid jobs in the mining industry for unskilled workers is incentive for high school graduates not to go to university, as reported on ABC Capricornia.
“Good times are notoriously hard to recruit people to go to university because the simple question is why?
“At the moment with all the money in the resources sector, school leavers or apprentices or unskilled workers can still pick up 100,000 dollars plus.
“If you compare that to a university degree, even if you get a degree and get 100,000 dollars or 150,000 you’re already 400,000 dollars behind your mate who went to school and went straight out there after year 12.”
