Freeport Indonesia to process 400,000t of copper concentrate at new smelter
Earlier this month, Freeport obtained an export permit for the rest of the year from the government.
John Macken, who recently gave up being president of Ivanhoe Mines, was BC’s top paid executive and brought home a total $23.358 million compensation package in 2011, according to the Vancouver Sun that just released its survey of the province’s top 100.
Macken was joined by chairman Peter Meredith at number two who earned $14.041 million and former CEO Robert Friedland at number three who was paid $12.574 million.
Ivanhoe Mining’s management was shaken up when Rio Tinto became the controlling shareholder of the company. Ivanhoe is running the Oyu Tolgoi project in Mongolia.
Miners dominated the top 100 group. Eight of the top ten paid execs worked at mining companies.
