Funding for Education Program in Mine Safety for West Virginia

As wowktv reports, West Virginia will receive over $560,000 from the U.S. Department of Labor to provide training in health and safety for miners.

“Making sure miners get the training they need to stay safe on the job is absolutely critical. This funding is part of that effort, and I’ve also been working in Congress to pass comprehensive mine safety reform so that we have tough new laws to protect our miners. Making sure they are safe each and every day they go to work is one of my top priorities, and we must continue to work on ways to improve mine safety,” said Rockefeller [West Virginia Senator].
