John Davidson and Associates (JDA) has increased its global footprint in the recruitment sector in a merger with the Applus+ Velosi Group.
The recent sale of a 70% stake in its business to Applus+ Velosi — a recognised leader in the provision of inspection, quality assurance, certification and testing services to the oil and gas sector — provides the JDA group with exciting new opportunities to reinforce its core business strengths and provide innovative workplace management solutions in diverse locations.
As part of the Carlyle Group portfolio (the American-based global asset management firm), Applus+ Velosi services a stable of prominent oil and gas corporations including BP, Shell, ExxonMobil, ADNOC, PETRONAS, PetroBras, ONGC, and Chevron.
“JDA recognized Applus+ Velosi’s expertise and influence in the oil & gas sector and acted on the opportunity to join forces and capitalize on the group’s global exposure and extended suite of services,” said Stephen Grey, JDA’s Chief Operating Officer.

In corporate structure terms John Davidson will continue to be the face of JDA, operating as Managing Director, while Stephen Grey, previously General Manager of JDA Wokman (PNG), has been appointed Group Chief Operating Officer. JDA will remain recognizable by its company branding which will now incorporate the Applus+ Velosi logo.
The merger between JDA and Applus+ Velosi positions JDA to deliver comprehensive human resources solutions to resources sector companies around the globe.
