Leading provider of intuitive software solutions to the mining and exploration industry, MICROMINE will be attending the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) Annual Convention and Trade Show 2012, being held next week in Toronto, Canada.

The MICROMINE team will be located at Booth #1203.

The 4 day annual convention is renown by those in the industry as being one of the largest Conventions for anyone with a connection to the mineral industry.

In addition to showcasing its suite of mining and exploration solutions, MICROMINE will be launching its new Managed Services solution, which forms part of the Geobank data management solution.

MICROMINE’s new Managed Services solution has been designed to allow for organisations who would like to outsource elements of their geological data management function. It is highly flexible and can be tailored to accommodate a broad range of data management requirements.

Included in the Managed Services solution is a hosting service, which is delivered by leading hosting provider DataGate. This data centre is designed to avoid the potential for any single point of failure in connectivity, power or climate control. As a result of this, MICROMINE clients are able to feel assured that their geological data is being managed safely and securely.

Commenting on the new solution, Vicky Austin, Strategic Business Unit Manager – Geobank explains “Geobank continues to grow across all the major mining regions of the world. We are committed to continued development and ongoing expansion of data management capabilities to our clients”.

Ms Austin continues “Adding our new Managed Services offering is a way of assisting even the smallest of companies, utilizing the expertise of Geological Data Management and ensuring that companies benefit from a world class package without the hassle and expense of managing it themselves. For MICROMINE, this means we can provide yet another service to compliment the mining experience.”

MICROMINE will also showcase the latest version of its flagship product Micromine, a world leading geological exploration and mine planning solution. Micromine 2011 continues to build on the key differentiating features and benefits of Micromine such as speed, performance, ease of use and productivity gains.

The majority of new enhancements relate to the Micromine Core module which means both existing and new clients benefit from the technological advances, research and development focus that has become MICROMINE’s trademark.

In attendance at the MICROMINE stand will be a team of industry experts including mining engineers, IT specialists and geologists. Heading the MICROMINE team at PDAC will be James Hogg, MICROMINE’s Regional Manager – Europe.

Commenting on MICROMINE’s participation at PDAC Mr Hogg says “We are really thrilled to be attending PDAC once again. For a company like MICROMINE, who is represented so well globally, it is a rare chance for us to convene in an environment where we are so widely exposed to people directly within our industry.”

In addition to Geobank and MIcromine, MICROMINE will also be showcasing its other solutions such as Dome, Field Marshal and Pitram. All of which contribute to MICROMINE’s ability to provide IT solutions for every stage of the mining and exploration process.

Field Marshal is a software application created specifically for the collection and management of geological field data. Pitram is MICROMINE’s mine control and management reporting solution that records, manages and processes mine site data in real time. Dome is a web based operational intelligence solution designed for the mining industry.
