Mining’s old guard needs strong medicine
A new report details subpar investor returns in the mining industry over the last decade, particularly big cap diversified companies which have not adapted to new realities.
Metso has signed a contract with Consorcio Construtor Belo Monte (CCBM) to supply equipment to the construction of the Belo Monte hydroelectric power plant (UHE Belo Monte) in Brazil. The project is located at the Xingu River, Para State, in the northern region of the country. In addition to the equipment, the contract also includes services and parts. The value of the order is some €30 million. According to the contract, Metso’s scope of delivery will comprise three automated large crushing plants, two portable plants and two mobile Lokotrack plants. (more…)
