Copper: Humanity’s first and most important future metal
Millions of feet of copper wiring will be required for strengthening the world’s power grids, and hundreds of thousands of tonnes more are needed to build wind and solar farms.
Sandfire Resource’s NL (ASX: SFR) board today approved a definitive feasibility study (DFS) for the DeGrussa VMS copper-gold project in a remote part of the Murchison Mineral Field in Western Australia.
The company said the latest studies showed substantially increased copper production, revenue and cash flow in the first three years of operation – beginning in 2013 – and that the internal rate of return for the project would be 108%.
